Based on the play ‘A Vampire Story’ by Moira Buffini, adapted by Moira Buffini, directed by Neil Jordan. Starring Gemma Arterton, Saoirse Ronan and Jonny Lee Miller.

A mother and daughter vampire duo seek refuge in a run-down coastal resort after fleeing the scene of a violent crime. Clara meets lonely Noel, who provides shelter in his deserted guesthouse, Byzantium. Schoolgirl Eleanor befriends Frank and tells him their lethal secret: they were born 200 years ago and survive on human blood. As knowledge of their secret spreads, their past catches up on them, with deadly consequences.

Post-film Q&A with legendary producer Stephen Woolley. Byzantium marks Stephen Woolley’s fifth collaboration with director Neil Jordan. Previous successes include The Company of Wolves, Mona Lisa, The Crying Game (nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture) and Interview with the Vampire.
